Our Mission

HELP’s mission is to provide programs that support the educational needs of lower literacy adults and children residing in Washington, Smyth and Russell Counties in southwest Virginia; promote and support on-time high school graduation; and educate the public about literacy issues and their role in the overall health and stability of communities.

Our Vision

Everyone in Southwest Virginia will have the literacy skills to pursue his or her life goals and to be active participants in building a productive community.

To achieve this mission and vision, we offer:

Reading & Writing
English as a Second Language
Basic Computer Literacy

Youth Literacy Programs:
Reading with the “Tail Waggin’ Tutors”
TURNING PAGES Reading program
After School Enrichment programs
